7/31/2023 0 Comments Reil ezburnerIt's significantly more limited in every way. But I figured I'd try EZBurner out anyway, in case it was even better. Lately, I've been using Burnaware Free because it does data burning very well in a lightweight package. I have just about every burning software there is.all of them have at least one significant fault which keeps me looking. The software interface itself is too limited in features and design, so I would never use it anyway. But I decided not to waste a disc trying to burn anything with EZ-Burnaware. I don't see a way to set it to split discs like Burnaware, but it's possible it could do it, just automatically. so you're stuck with a little window (relative to my display) scrolling.)ĮZBurner doesn't have - as far as I can see - a means to tell you about the disc in the drive, as does Burnaware. No feedback from EZBurner.ĮZBurner has a handle to enlarge the window, but the window would not enlarge. While it was doing it's blinky thing, I loaded burnaware free, dropped the same folder tree on it, and even though it started a lot later, it finished in about 5 seconds, while EZBurner churned on for more than three or four minutes.īurnaware Free told me exactly the estimated disc size. If you are in a hurry, set your forge on your propane or charcoal grill and cook it for an hour or more. Until all of the water is driven off, your forge temperatures will suffer. If your forge is still only a few days old, it could still have water in it. No dialog showing progress like Burnaware free. The other thing that could be happening is moisture. It sat there blinking for a long time while it was reading. Apparently, you need to add folder subtrees using "Add Folder", otherwise it just picks up the files you select, and ignores the folders you select. Added ied to load a whole folder with subfolders. Usage: Program running to burn a Data Blu-ray. My only recourse was to ignore.īur otherwise installed and activated on Windows 10. These set screws retain the pipe nipple.During install there was an error trying to write ffmpeg to a folder. You will also need to drill and tap two holes for set screws in the back of the reducer. If you choose to follow the construction of my burner, drill two 7/16″ holes in the sides of the reducer such that the pipe nipple can pass through the center of the large end. The pipe reducer must be modified slightly to accept the 1/8″ pipe nipple that will carry the gas flow. You will also need two small U-brackets suitable for holding the 1/8″ pipe nipple and 4 machine screws of a suitable size to use with those brackets. If you are mounting the 1/8″ nipple used to the face of the pipe reducer, you will only need 3 of the above set screws. An 0.040″ or 0.045″ MIG welding tip (if you decide to use this as the gas jet).1/8″ to 1/4″ NPT bushing (same material as above).1/8″ pipe cap (of the same material as the 1/8″ nipple).3″ long, 1/8″ pipe nipple (I used brass here because I ended up sourcing parts at Home Depot and that was what they had.To build this burner, you will need to acquire the following: If you have access to a drill press or a drill and a very steady hand, you can build this burner. Almost all of them used a burner design called the “Reil Burner,” which has the distinct DIY advantage of being constructed almost entirely from plumbing parts. I did some interwebs research and came upon a few Web sites on which people documented their own forge builds. Did you know that you could be doing this same time-tested technique at home? Here is how I built my own propane forge.Īt my old shop, I had a talented blacksmith as a neighbor (check out his work: who got me interested enough to take a stab at forging on my own. Industrial processes often involve forging not only for the efficiency with which it forms metal, but also for the way in which it strengthens the part by aligning the grains in the steel along the lines of its shape. Blacksmiths throughout history have (and continue to) forge steel to create things ranging from practical to beautiful and everywhere in between. It’s one of the oldest metal-forming operations in existence. Forging steel is significant for several reasons.
